He stated it was still the Trust intention to remove the Cardiac Monitoring Unit (CMU)  from Bridlington to Scarborough, a time-scale could be well into next year 2008, talks were still taking place with Claire Wood of Yorkshire PCT and the Yorkshire Ambulance service, the ambulance service did confirm it would cost in excess of £1.5m to commission the vehicles required, staff and equipment, the vehicles would have to be adapted & could take 6 months plus. McInnes also stated the Acute Medical services at Bridlington hospital were also under threat and could be reduced by 1 ward, taking the particle service to Scarborough, time scale 2008. Minor Injuries Unit would re-open as a 24/7 walk-in unit, possibly after next financial tax year 2008. Other changes were in the pipeline for charge with more day case surgeries taking place.

Our Group re-iterated what we had been fighting for with the loss of services to the Bridlington Hospital, CMU removal, Acute medical and the MIU, and the fact the Trust were taking no notice of what the people of Bridlington require and there anger of the above removals of services I also brought to the attention of all that bridlington is a Regeneration area and that the hospital should be up-graded not downgraded...Appointment; I stated that most patients are now been given appointments at Scarborough....we should demand to be treated at Bridlington hospital...patients new and old find it very difficult to get to Scarborough due to cost and the lack of buses and trains etc; a taxi one wat 322.00 return to bridlington £40.00...how do pensioners and people with children and those on credit & income support manage?
